Subsidy E-Alert

As Early Care and Education advocates are aware, the multiple year budget cuts to subsidized child care programs have had a severe impact on the availability of child care subsidy and child care slots in our county as well as across the State.  The waiting lists for eligible families in need of assistance are growing daily. 

At Choices For Children the daily calls from parents seeking assistance are adding to the already high need for services in our county.  Unfortunately, CFC is not currently able to enroll any new families.  All calls looking for assistance are added to the CFC waiting list and referred to our other El Dorado County partners who also have growing waiting lists.  Please continue to refer families for assistance and/or CPS referrals.  However, be aware that services may not be immediately available. 

Parents DO need to get their names and information on the CFC waiting list as well as other local subsidized child care wait lists. When funds are available, these are the lists that we will all pull names from for enrollment into the limited slots.
