Fizzy Painting

Fizzy painting has everything we look for in a children's activity; it is an open-ended, process oriented, inexpensive activity, using readily available materials with sensory, art and science components. The adults enjoyed it just a much as the children, so be sure to set up a tray for yourself.

You will need:
baking soda
white vinegar
food dye
pipette/eye dropper
tray

Begin by applying a generous layer of baking soda on your tray. about 1/4"-1/2"

baking soda vinegar volcanoes, science activities for kids, open ended activities for toddler, open ended activities for preschool, science activities for preschool, fine motor activities for kids, tie die for kids, relaxing activities for kids

Place about an ounce of white vinegar in a small cup with a few drops of food coloring.

Drop tinted vinegar onto the baking soda and watch it fizzle. Using the eye dropper is a great way to develop the fine motor skills needed for writing.

A relaxing activity for almost all ages.....with a pleasing display of colors and texture.
