Pipe Cleaner Sunflower Prints

Ahhh the golden sunflower of late summer!
Children can make an instant garden with pipe cleaners and paint.

You will need:
3 pipe cleaners (any color)
One 1 inch pom pom
Yellow paint
Brown paint
Green crayon, marker, paint, etc.
White paper

Bend 3 pipe cleaners into a flower by forming petals and twisting together. 

Have children press the pipe cleaner flower into yellow paint. 

Children will need to dip and press the flower several times in order to create a "full" flower.

Repeat the printing process for as many flowers the artist desires in their garden.

Let the yellow paint dry. 

Have children dip the pom pom into brown paint and dab in the center of the flowers. 

(Great fine motor activity using a tripod grasp).

Sunflowers have large brown centers- so dip and press a few times to create the sunflowers. 

Add green stems to the flowers by using a crayon or marker. 

A bright, bold garden of sunflowers!
