Duo Drawings

This is a great activity for parents and older children/ teens.
activities for pre-teen, activities for tween, activities for teen, family activities with a teen

You will need:
Nothing more than a blank sheet of paper and a pen
Oh... and a willingness to draw

Begin by making a shape or mark on the paper.
Either person can begin- it doesn't matter who starts.
Rotate turns by drawing a few strokes or items to alter the picture.

Try not to direct your older child by negatively commenting on their drawing.
It can be silly, odd, sad, etc. Art is expression.

As you can see the girl in the drawing looks sad, but as in life, art can change.
See the next set of pictures below.

Can you tell Alice and Wonderland is one of our favorite books and Roald Dahl a favorite author?

We also started this concept on a Boogie Board (an LCD drawing board) which gives an nice inverted look.

If you notice, using the pen and paper or Boogie Board doesn't allow for erasing which makes this activity more fun because you have to work with what you put on paper and you can't go back and erase any portions.

We would love to see some of your Duo Drawings! Please share.....
