After our discussion we made Discovery Boxes from fabric remnants and empty wipe boxes.
If you don't have fabric remnant, discarded garments or anything made of fabric will work well for creating this activity box. The best fabrics are the one's which provide different sensory experiences such as: pleather, burlap, denim, fluffy or sherpa fabric, flannel, shiny spandex and stretchy jersey.
Use pinking shears if you have them to cut the fabric into strips.
Children can then satisfy their schema for pulling items out of a box with an added sensory component to enrich their exploration.
