Fine Motor Bumble Bee

We found these wonderful creations at a local preschool graduation ceremony.
This craft has built in scissor work, glue squeezing and tissue paper pinching...all great fine motor task to help children develop hand-writing skills.

You will need:
yellow, orange & brown construction paper
tissue paper
googly eyes
glue
scissors
tape
a printer (optional)

Scissor & Sorting work:
We did our best to reconstruct the templates for this activity.
Bee's body- This will give you a template for the body shape. Children can also cut out the stripes from the template. They will need to use every other one, so marking the rows in between with pencil "x"s will help them sort from those they will be gluing on the body. This activity is a great exercise in both patterning and sizing. Some of the children chose to color the stripes black, another great fine motor activity.
Bee's head
Cut out an orange triangle for the nose and a brown crescent for the mouth.

Glue & Tape work:
Glue the head to the body.
Glue the stripes, eye, nose and mouth.
Pinch and tape tissue paper wings behind the body.

Thank you to The Alpine Early Learning Center for this great activity, which generations of children at the center have enjoyed.
