Box & Ball Paintings

For Play Group this week we filled up some empty boxes with paint, balls and paper and made black on red paintings!

You will need:
An empty box
Various size and textures of balls
Tape
Paint
Paper

We reused some empty boxes that had a tab closure- about the size of a shoe box, small enough for the toddlers to wrap their arms around.

We taped two sheets of paper on the inside of the largest side.

Squeeze some paint onto the bottom of the box. Toss the balls inside, even make a game of it.
But don't let the balls back out! They will be covered in paint.

Close the box and secure. Ours had a tab closure. If yours doesn't, just tape closed with masking tape.

Shake and shake and shake! Play some music while they shake! March and shake!
When you are all done shaking.....open the box.

Pour the painted balls into a washable container or dish bin.

Wait for the paintings to dry or remove carefully when wet.

Fire (red) & Water (black)

Valentine's Day is coming up....try this with red paper & white paint OR white paper & red paint.

Or St. Patrick's Day....white paper & green paint OR green paper & yellow paint.

We served these fun and healthy snacks to celebrate the coming of the Chinese New Year!
Edamame (great fine motor opportunity), tangerines, and fortune cookies.

Have a safe, healthy and happy Year of the Horse!
