"Every Day a Little Play" Family Bookmark

During our "Active Parenting in 3" workshop this week, our facilitator Carol Ledesma of Choices for Children came up with a whimsical reminder for us to set aside time each day for a shared fun activity with our family.

Positive parenting focuses on "Connection before correction". Having a close relationship with your children will help when it comes time to dole out chores. Spend time doing something enjoyable together on a regular basis. Mixing some fun each day can make daily chores or tasks less unsavory.

  • Print the image below.
  • Cut and paste each image back-to-back to create your bookmark. Or you may want to leave image as-is and post your list on the refrigerator.
  • There is a space for 25 enjoyable activities. Involve your family in creating the list, ensuring the list has activities everyone in the family will enjoy,
  • Be sure to list a variety of activities: mostly free, including those that involve less time for weekdays. The goal is to add fun without factoring in any additional stress from huge time and money commitments.
