We had a fabulous time at our annual egg hunt event yesterday! We stuffed around 875 eggs- which were scooped up into baskets in less than 5 minutes!
With the buzz of energy we experience after the egg hunt, we chose a quick and easy craft for a crowd.....Sock Bunnies.
We purchased new socks because we needed over 16 pairs, but you could definitely use a gently used sock that has lost it's mate.
You will need;
a sock
poly-fill
cotton balls
string to match the sock & accent ribbon for bow tie
permanent markers
scissors
Begin by inserting one or two cotton balls at the top of the toe area.
Then add the poly fill....about up to the heel.
Tie one string tight around the middle to form the waist and another near the heel to form the head. The unfilled portion of the sock will be the ears.
Cut the top of the sock in half vertically, down the middle.
Draw on a face and add a bow.
On another note....
We stuff ALOT of eggs each year. In order to hide them quickly we tape them shut so they don't pop open when we gently toss them. We also try to re-use the eggs and offer a bin for the children to deposit their empty eggs in. Needless to say, that is a lot of sticky tape to pull off around a few hundred salvaged eggs. This year we taped them with washi tape- and the tape was removed within minutes!
