Penguin Blot Art

Thank you to Artsy Momma for this engaging activity idea for our weekly playgroup.
After a little trial and error, we came up with a solid system to create these ink blot penguins.

For this project we used:
11"x14" mixed media art paper
black and orange tempera paint in small squeeze bottles
a pencil
glue
large googly eyes

Begin by folding your paper along middle of the longest side of your page. You can then draw a shape that looks like one half of an "8".
Have you child squeeze the black paint from the bottle tracing the pencil mark.
Then add a horizontal orange line at the bottom of the page. Then fold over and watch the mirror image appear.
Why stick with penguins when there is so much more to make with the materials?
Happy Wednesday!
