You will need:
various colors of paper
scissors
glue
Based upon the child's ability, have them cut various size squares from the paper available.
Children learning to cut will have an easier time cutting one side of a square. This can be achieved by offering a long strip of paper and marking where to cut for an even square.
Glue squares on top of each other, starting with big to little and using contrasting colors.
Children will practice cutting, squeezing glue, colors, sizes, and shapes with this activity.
Variations:
Attach the finished geo squares to each other for a visually appealing class "quilt".
Older children may enjoy working with squares of fabric and fabric glue, or even alternating between paper and fabric.
