Valentine's Day Collage

Valentine's Day is a great time to focus on the color red and the heart shape.

• Have your child or children go on a search for red objects than can be used in a collage. For child care providers, have children hunt for red collage objects at home and bring back to the day care home or center.
• Trace a heart on heavy paper. We copied a heart template into a Microsoft Publisher document and printed onto manila stockcard paper.
• You can also provide old magazines so children can cut red swatches they find.
• Glue objects within the heart shape.
