Create a Bird Nesting Station

nature activities for kids, outdoor activities for kids

Save that netted food bag:
nesting materials for birds, spring activities for kids, nature activities for kids, green actvities for kids

Treasure is in the eye of the beholder. Your trash can be a bird's treasure.
Gather some treasures......

We used:
gift pack (shredded paper will work well)
dryer lint
 twigs
ribbon, yarn, thread remnants
fabric strips
craft feathers
torn cotton balls
used dryer sheet strips
lichen
hair from a hairbrush

Mix the treasures together and stuff into your netted sack. Hang in a safe, quiet area for the birds- but hopefully from which you have a view.
Enjoy watching the birds busy themselves.

This activity pairs well with the book "A Nest Full of Eggs" by Pricillla Jenkins and illustrated by Lizzy Rockwell.
