Holiday Decorations by Preschoolers

Our Alpine community had a beautiful holiday program today featuring a musical program from our local preschool program. The event was created in collaboration with parents and the preschool staff.  We took a few photos to show the fruits of their creativity and work.
This beautiful table centerpiece was created by gluing 12 tubes together to form a tree. The outside was painted green and sprinkled with glitter. The lower two tubes or trunk were painted brown. Pompoms were then placed in the top 10 tubes on either side. These tubes were actually cardboard mouthpieces for a spirometer donated by our local health nurse (they were the wrong size). You can use any tube you have available and then use pompoms that fit inside.
These lovely centerpieces were made by gluing a piece of paperboard into a cone. The children then cut and glued tissue paper to decorate the trees. The finishing touch was to place them on a plate with batting and glitter.
One of the parents created a photo opp area, including this nearly life size snowman made of stacked wrapped boxes, buttons, ribbon and a scarf.

As always, it was fun to enjoy the company of the families in our community and wish them "Happy Holidays". And now we can look forward to longer and stronger sunlight through the winter.
