"Three Good Things" Happiness Jars

Our agency believes in the Strengthening Families framework and the Five Protective Factors (Knowledge of Child Development, Concrete Resources in Time of Needs, Social Connections, Social-Emotional competence of children and Parental Resilience). The following activity was offered at a Playgroup session and is designed to increase parental resilience.
Using a research based practice called "Three Good Things" has shown to improve positive emotion and increase well-being, we created these "Happiness Jars" for parents to take home. We used quart jars because we had them on-hand. Use whatever container you have available. An up-cycled container would be ideal. We included a worksheet of both long and short instructions as well as a beautiful infographic/bookmark created by the University of Michigan Health.

We labeled the top and side of the container using Avery 22818 labels,
writing out the short version of the activity directions.
What are you thankful for today?
