Falling Leaves

Here's a seasonal twist on a traditional wax-resist project.

You will need:
white paper
oil pastels (fall leaf colors)
watercolors
paintbrushes
water

  • Begin by drawing leaves with oil pastels in any formation on the paper- floating, falling, blowing, raked in a pile, etc.
  • Paint over the leaves with watercolors with any color pattern or style desired.

Falling Leaves
Little leaves fall softly down
Red and yellow, orange and brown
Whirling, twirling round and round
Falling softly to the ground
Little leaves fall softly down
To make a carpet on the ground.
Then, swish, the wind comes whistling by
And sends them dancing to the sky.
